The impact of distributed generator (DG) can be quantified using a set of power quality (PQ) indicators that characterize its performance. In some cases, the performance will improve after the DG connection; in other cases, there might be negative impacts on the system. Nevertheless, it is important to realize that those performance indexes should not be exceeded and should be carefully analyzed in the context of their application. Moreover, the performance index is mostly defined as the HC that a system has in accepting renewable energy sources. In other words, the connection of DGs must respect the limits of the proposed PQ indicators. In this chapter, the concept of local hosting capacity will be applied through the evaluation of allowed voltage profile due to harmonic distortion. A presentation of hosting capacity analysis techniques regarding the use of more than one power quality index is also included in this chapter. It is important to highlight that this approach will be an introduction to the application of dynamic hosting capacity, which will be defined in Chap
